This is a plain-English summary of what happens to your information when you use Pinyin Sheets.

The short version

• There are no accounts, no sign-up and no login.
• The worksheet generator runs in your browser. The text you paste is used to build the sheet on your device and is not sent to our server.
• We may use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to count visits.
• In future we may show ads and use affiliate links. If we do, this page will be updated first.

What the site is

Pinyin Sheets is a static website: a set of pages and scripts served to your browser. There is no database of users, and we don't collect names, email addresses or payment details through the site.

Analytics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited. It is designed to work without cookies and without tracking individual visitors across sites. It gives us aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites, country and browser type. Our hosting provider may also keep standard server logs (such as IP address and request time) for security and to keep the service running.

The worksheet tool

The characters you paste and the worksheets you make are processed in your browser. We don't receive, store or read them. If you print or save a PDF, that file stays on your device.

Advertising (future)

We may show ads in future, for example through Google AdSense, to cover hosting costs. If we do, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, which may include personalised ads depending on your location and choices. Where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent first. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com. We'll update this page before ads go live.

Affiliate links (future)

Some pages may in future link to products such as books or practice notebooks through affiliate programmes. If you buy through such a link, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links will be labelled, and they don't change what we recommend.

Children

The site is meant to be used by parents, teachers and adult learners. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and the tool doesn't ask for any.

Your choices

You can block cookies and scripts in your browser settings. The worksheet tool needs JavaScript to run.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
